MY TESTIMONY
(UNEDITTED..SO PLZ BARE THE MISTAKES ON IT LOL)
Hey everybody,
My name is Katherine-Rose. I am freshly graduated from Denbigh High School. I have been saved for over 8 years now. But I have had my trials and tribulations throughout my short life.
I have been going to church since I was 5 years old. When I was 8 years old I had to deal with a lot of things. I was molested by my oldest brother who was 14 years old. I wasn’t able to understand how much it really affected me, until I was about 11 years old.
He had finally come home from being put in a special homes for teens, but things between us were never the same. We forgave each other, but there was still our animosity.
Well things didn’t ever settle between us, but we agreed to be just simple aquantances. Throughout my life I have also dealt with severe beatings from family members, emotional conflict and a lot of verbal conflict as well. I grew up being told that I am basically worth nothing.
My life had been falling down hill for several years. I battled Anorexia, and bulimia. I also battled with wanting to kill myself. I feel into a deep depression.
I went back to church, and started to get back into the word.
However the enemy wasn’t willing to stop pursing after me. On July 18th of 2005, I was deeply hit by a sudden sharp pain. It was in my heart. I came home at 2. in the morning to find that my oldest brother, youngest brother, and three of my best friends had been drinking at my house while everybody else was asleep. Well they decided to go out and when they went out it was only 3:00 that same morning. The three of my best friends were in the back of the car. My oldest brother was driving the car, and my youngest brother was in the front passenger seat of the car. My oldest brother was driving very fast on I-64 going westbound right before the Fort Eustis exit and tried to go around another car while speeding. He lost control of the steering and crashed the car into the median. The three boys in the back died instantly because the back was smashed in badly.
Somebody on the side pulled out my little brother who was in the front right passenger seat. And then the car caught fire and burned up the driver, my oldest brother. When the police got to the scene it was too late…only one boy survived.
Well that shook my world. My baby brother was in a coma for one month, and now still faces problems with his brain. He didn’t have a MARK on his body, no burns, no scars NOTHING. Thank the precious Lord for that! But he was in a coma, and had to face a blood clot in the front left lobe of his brain. He recovered, but he is now facing two brain aneurysms. He is lucky to be alive right now, but God has blessed me with him being alive.
I fell back into a depression, and had to deal with things again. But I am back on a path with the Lord leading my life. I go to church twice a week, and I have finally set aside time for personal one on one with the Lord. I am also in College and going to be doing the Lords will. I am going to be a Pediatrics Nurse, and then work my way up to Pediatrics doctor! I am just lucky, and I am just thankful, and what keeps me going is my faith in the Lord, the walk that I am on with him, and that I may stray, but he blesses me all the way.
