What with the recent cnn interview with joel osteen, and my own observation of television preachers, I've noticed that it's become increasingly difficult to find someone that actually preaches the word of god instead of what could be classified as 'pop psychology'. Is it because we don't trust the power of the gospel? Has it, in the ensuing centuries, failed to remain the power of salvation for those that believe? Or has psychology taken the opportunity to distill god from his own word and repackage it to the world well enough that we need to try to sell them the same goods.
I say this, let's start with ourselves as believers. Let's put god's word to the test, and instead of believing what we
say we believe, let's believe what we know to be true. I believe in god because i've had experience in god, and that experience is not up for argument. Once we get back to the point where we're the ones that have the truth, we can use that to make other's free.
