What is R.E.B.E.L.S?
R.E.B.E.L.S. is Dr. Rock's favorite hangout. R.E.B.E.L.S. stands for "Real, Everyday, Believers
Encouraging Lost Souls." While that may sound "religious," R.E.B.E.L.S. is definitely not a
preachy, religious place. Rather, it is a place where people of all ages can go, hang out, eat some
good munchies, play games, and hear some great live music.
The building once housed one of the most notorious biker bars in the Council Bluffs, IA/Omaha, NE
area. It's most notorious bouncer was one Mark Schiller: better known as "The Beast."
Some time ago, however, Mark went through a spiritual renewal. He then found a new purpose in
life; to reach out to those who are wandering through life lost and hurting.
Eventually, the old building where he had such a reputation became available. If his life could be
redeemed, why not this building? He and his wife, Tanya, bought the place and converted it in to
R.E.B.E.L.S.
R.E.B.E.L.S. is located at the corner of 16th Ave. and S. 6th St. in Council Bluffs, Iowa (see the map
below). It features live music every Friday and Saturday night, other fun activities on other nights,
and even church services on Sunday mornings (but not like you've ever attended before).
