The Truth Will Set You Free!

Satan has a way of getting people confused on what the Bible teaches. In Europe, a while back, they had a problem with what salvation was. The Roman Catholic church was telling people that the church itself decided who was saved and who wasn't. You got "saved" by the church when you gave them enough money or did enough good deeds for them. Then, in the 1500's, Martin Luther and John Calvin started teaching people what the Bible says, which is that salvation comes from faith in Jesus alone, through what HE did for us on the cross. Not by the church or for what any of us can do. That big movement lead by Luther and Calvin was called the Reformation. Today in America we need a Reformation. A large percentage of Americans dont know what salvation is. They have been taught that salvation is being saved from the negative things of life here on earth to having a happier and more prosperous life now. That isn't what salvation is according to the Bible, which is God's Word, without error! Salvation is being saved from our sins, which have seperated us from God (Isaiah 59: 1-2) and have earned us the right to spend eternity in hell, being punished by God for our sins(Romans 2: 5). Jesus took that punishment for us on the cross (Isaiah 53: 3), so that if God has mercy on us, and grants us the gift of faith in Him (Ephesians 2: 8), and we repent (Acts 2: 38), then we will not spend eternity in hell but in heaven with Him(John 14: 6)! The emphasis in the Bible is not on how happy or prosperous we are in our lives here. Our calling from God is about being holy and getting our fulfillment out of life from knowing Him. Heaven itself is knowing Jesus(John 17: 3). Salvation isn't about how you feel...it's about being saved from what you deserve: hell!

"Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!" Romans 5: 9

America needs to know the truth...America needs a Reformation!
