Powerless?
Posted On 05/18/2008 13:45:58

One of the greatest truths I have ever come to understand is that a “sense of powerlessness” is the root to all negative emotions.  If you feel powerless to do anything about your past, you feel guilty.  If you feel powerless to change your future, you feel afraid.  And if you feel powerless to change your present, you feel depressed.  When you feel like the people or circumstances of your life will not change, you feel angry.

Think about this for a moment—depression, fear, guilt and anger are four of the most powerful negative emotions you will ever experience.  And ALL of them stem from a sense of powerlessness.  The thought that there’s not much we can do about the economy or our weight or the allergies we grew up with, etc. imprisons us to accept and tolerate a mediocre and weak life.

Most people want to be powerful but have tolerated a powerless existence, just because they never realized how powerful they really are.  Power comes from the Greek word: “dunamis”—which means ability, enablement.

Let’s fast from the feeling of powerlessness.

  1. Embrace the truth that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but POWER, LOVE and a SOUND MIND. (2 Timothy 1:7)  This is already done.  You have this power in you.

  2. BELIEVE that power is in you. Ephesians 3:20 says God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think ACCORDING TO THE POWER that is at work within you.  There is power in you that enables God to do beyond what we can ask or think.

  3. Give God something to work with.  You have to THINK and ASK.  Since He can do BEYOND, we have to at least give Him a base to begin with.  We limit God when we don’t think big and ASK big.

  4. Recognize and honor the Holy Spirit in you.  Acts 1:8 says, “You shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit comes upon you...”  Again, this power (dunamis=dynamite) is already in you.  Thank God for the Holy Spirit in you. Romans 8:11 says, ‘the very same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.’

  5. Take the limits off. Don’t limit God.  Psalm 78:41 says that the children of Israel LIMITED the Lord.  They limited Him, because they DID NOT REMEMBER His power (verse 42).  We free God’s hand to bless when we REMEMBER HIS PREVIOUS BLESSINGS.  Psalm 103 says to not forget His benefits.

  6. EXPECT!  Never underestimate the power of expectation.  Expect today for God’s power to strengthen you; expect to be led by His Spirit today.  We limit what God can do in our lives, when we lower our expectations.

  7. Embrace your power:  the power to forgive and be forgiven (John 20); the power to heal (Mark 16:20); the power to speak the Word and get results (Job 22:28)

Think It and Say It:

God has not given me a spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound mind.

I have POWER in my life right now.  Through the Holy Spirit in me, I have the power to overcome sin; the power to change my life for the better, the power to be healed; the power to forgive; the power to praise God no matter what; the power to speak God’s Word and see His promises show up in my life.

I will think big and ask big, and therefore the POWER OF GOD’S SPIRIT WITHIN ME, will bring it to pass in my life.

I choose to remember what God has already done which takes the limits off of my life and my expectations.  I expect favor today, wisdom, understanding, and God’s blessing!

Problems?
Posted On 05/02/2008 10:03:39

“Am I going to have enough?”   â€œHow am I going to make ends meet?”  â€œCan I really flourish financially?”

These thoughts are especially burdensome, when everywhere we look, people are talking about how bad the economy is, and how it will be a long time before people recover.  BUT we’re not a part of this world’s system.  If you are a child of God, you have a right to succeed. You have a covenant with God!

1. First, you need to trust God as your source.
Declare today, “My God shall supply all my needs.” (Philippians 4:19)

2. Next, realize the purpose of money.
In Deuteronomy 8:18, God gives us “the power to get wealth, so that He may establish
His covenant in the earth.” That’s the purpose—HAVE THIS IN MIND, when you think
    about money.

3. Commit to God that you will use the abundance God gives you – to establish God’s
covenant in the earth—to help get the gospel out.

4. Think this: “Give and it will be given to you...”
Do you see it?  God promises that IT will be given back to you in good measure, pressed
down, shaken together.  â€œIT” will be given to you, AFTER you GIVE.  Believe that
everything you give is coming back in good measure.  When you think like this, giving
becomes an attitude, a mindset that guides your life.

5. Realize that God will never forsake you.
Hebrews 13:5 says “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” He is talking about our
finances, our daily needs.  David said, “I was young, now old, and I have never seen the
righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25)

You are the righteous and you are God’s seed.  He has made a covenant to provide for you more than enough.  Believe that today.

Declare that today:

God is my source.  He meets all my needs according to His riches.

As abundance comes to me, I commit to using it to establish God’s covenant in the earth. No matter what’s going on in the economy, I have a covenant with God. God will not forsake me during a difficult time.

He is Jehovah-Jireh, my provider and He will never forsake me. I am not afraid to give, because IT WILL be given back to me in abundance.  I am blessed in good times, and blessed in bad times, because GOD is my Father and my provider!

If There is a Heaven...................
Posted On 04/26/2008 19:42:19

Either heaven is real or Jesus led His followers with lies.  If heaven is a hoax, then it is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated upon mankind. If there is no heaven, then the Bible is not true and Jesus was a deceiver.  If heaven is not the hope of humanity, then the human race has no hope WHATSOEVER!
The title of this blog reflects NO personal doubt about the reality of heaven.  Instead, I want 2 use it as a tactic 2 get the attention of all who live as though there is no heaven.  Practical atheists live as though God does not exist.  A practical atheist may verbally affirm the existence of God yet live in a manner that denies His existence.  If I REALLY believe there is a God, my behavior will reflect it.  Otherwise, I am a practical atheist, reguardless of what I say.  The same is true when it comes 2 the claiming that I believe in the existence of heaven.  Jesus said, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go 2 prepare a place 4 u"
Jesus was saying that He was not leading us on with false hopes and promises.
I am "held in the grip of His promise."  I am held in the grip of the promise that heaven is a prepared place for prepared people.  I am held in the grip of Jesus' promise that in His Father's house are many mansions.  I am held in the grip of the promise that He went away 2 prepare a place 4 me.  I am held in the grip of the promise that He is coming again 2 receive me un2 Himself.  I am held in the grip of the promise that where He is, there I may be also.
Peter said, "There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after thier own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming?  4 since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation"
What if the scoffers are wrong?  What if the rapture is real?  What if everything the prophetic Word says about the Second Coming is true?  What if the Lord Himself does descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God?  What if the dead in Christ do rise 1st?  What if all the living saints are caught up 2gether with the dead in Christ in the clouds 2 meet the Lord in the air?  What if the Son of man comes in an hour when we think not?  What if the coming of the Son of man is like lightning coming out of the east and shining un2 the west?
If the rapture is real, are u ready right now?  At this very moment?  What if Jesus comes when 2 people are working side by side, and 1 is taken and the other left?  And what if the 1 that is left behind, is u?  What if when Jesus comes u are among MILLLIONS who cry 4 the mts 2 fall on them 2 hide them from the face of the Almighty God?  What if u put off getting serious about living 4 God until it is 2 late?  What if u are like the 5 foolish virgins who did not have enough oil 2 last them until the bridegroom came?  What if there is a heaven u never go there?
There are NO "ifs" when it comes 2 the reality of heaven.  And there will be NO seat-selection opportunities in heaven.
BUT U CAN DECIDE NOW THAT U WILL SPEND ETERNITY IN HEAVEN.

God's Will 4 Our Life
Posted On 04/22/2008 17:18:53

The will of God is the greatest wealth you can have. Hebrews 10:7 says that Jesus came to the earth to do God’s will. The reason we need to discover the will of God for our lives and do it is because the greatest wealth and power is in the will of God. There is joy, peace, fulfillment, blessing and abundance in the will of God.

Hebrews 10:36 says in order to do the will of God we need patience - "hang in there power" - the power to stick it out. That kind of power is going to bring you into the will of God. If we’re going to find the will of God, we need to take the first step. Don’t despise the day of small beginnings –don’t be discouraged. Chip away at it. Finding the will of God is a step-by-step process. Fighting and going through the daily trials – that is when you develop that strength.

Why should we find the will of God for our lives? Because when you find the will of God for your life, you’re going to experience the promises of God. At the end of holding on, standing there and believing God, you’re going to experience God’s promises for your life.

Romans 12:2 shows you how to do the will of God: "Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove (or execute) what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God."

Finding the will of God is a process: Good will - Acceptable will - Perfect will. There are three stages of the will of God. There are also steps or stages to being in the will of God.

Steps to Finding the Will of God:

1.Change by changing the way we think. Romans 12:2 says to be changed by the renewing of your mind. That’s where change begins. When you change the way you think, then you’ll change your behavior. John 5:5 says "And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity 38 years," and goes on to describe his thinking. He thinks, "If I’m the first one in the water, I’m going to be healed." Jesus challenges his way of thinking and He will challenge the way we think, because when we change the way we think –it will be easy to change our actions.

2. Have the desire. Jesus said to him, "Will you be made whole?" We have to change what we are desiring. When we have desire, and when we change the way we think, that’s when we will be willing to do whatever it takes. A lot of Christians like the path of least resistance. Often times the path of greatest resistance yields the greatest reward.

3. Stop blaming other people. Jesus asked, "Will you be made whole?" And the impotent man said, "I have no man." In other words, he says, "Nobody loves me. Nobody cares." Blaming other people is a way of thinking. When we stop blaming people in our thinking, then we’ll experience the miracles God wants us to have.

4. Jesus said, "Rise, take up your bed, and walk." Jesus said you’ve got to take the first step. He didn’t say run yet. He didn’t say fly. He just said, "Get up."

Good Will of God:             ;     Rise Up!
Acceptable Will of God:     Take up Thy bed.
Perfect Will of God:             ; And Walk!

If you want to be in the perfect will of God, first rise, take up your bed, and then walk. Do these little things to add up to absolute success – in your finances, your marriage or any other area in your life. It wasn’t just one thing that got you in this situation. There was an accumulation of things that got you there; and, therefore, it’s going to take an accumulation of things to bring you a breakthrough. A breakthrough is a series of right decisions added one upon another. Start taking the little steps and making the right decisions that will bring the will of God and the promises of God into your life TODAY!

CHANGE
Posted On 04/10/2008 20:05:10
Embrace Change

He changes times and seasons.” (Daniel 2:21) God is always looking to take us to higher levels. He wants us to grow and increase in every area of life. Change is often a catalyst for growth in our lives. It keeps us from getting stuck in a rut. God will supernaturally open and close doors to keep us on the path toward our destiny. He will “stir us” out of comfortable situations and stretch us because He loves us too much to allow us to live in mediocrity. Just like a mother eagle will stir her young, God will stir His children. Do you know how an eaglet learns to fly? That eagle will take her eaglet to the very highest pointâ€"way out of its comfort zoneâ€"and then she releases it. As the eaglet falls, the mother swoops down and picks it back up again. She does this over and over until the eaglet spreads its wings and soars through the air. That’s what God wants for you today. He wants you to soar in life! You might feel like that eaglet learning to fly, but know that God is right there with you! He’ll never leave you. Embrace God’s change today, knowing that He is using it to take you up higher so that you can live in victory all the days of your life!

Awesome God

It is amazing, how AWESOME our God, really is.....
He has shown His absolute greatness time and time again. Lastnight we had a HORRIBLE storm. It is so beautiful how He shows his love through a rainbow, after everything is over.
It reminds me that EVERYTIME we go thru things in this life that after the storm blows over, He is there...............showing His EVERLASTING love!
I am SO very thankful that He is my God and I am His child.
Where would we be without Him?
