Under Attack?

Somtimes it feels like things are coming at you from every side, your taking hit after hit and you can't take it any more. Just remember, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ you have been given authority and victory over the enemy, so exercise it!
We are not to be overcome by evil. We are to over come evil with good. Romans 12:21. When you make the choice and fight the good fight of faith God takes care of the battle with the opposing forces of evil. 2 Ch 20:15. He is on our side. And He never loses a battle. Romans 8:31. God is a wall of fire around us to secure us. To terrify and destroy our enemies. He is a consuming fire which destroys evil. Zek 2:5; Psalm 125:2; Hebrews 12:29 Those that are for us are more than those that are against us. All heaven is on our side. 2 Kings 6:15. If we are on heavens side we cannot lose. We are not just looking for a safe haven when our life here on earth is over. We are instruments endued with divine power which enable us to do our part in bringing about the completion of God's divine plan. Luke 24:49; 2:14; Romans 8:26. Instruments of faith who give glory to the Messiah. By being strong in the grace which is in Him. We are strong in him and the power of His might. His strength is shown to be perfect even in our weakness. It is not about us, but about Him. He is the victor that cannot be overcome. And we who by faith take Him at His word and act on His grace cannot be overcome in Him. We are winners over the battle of sin, satan and the world, by our faith in Christ who overcame them all. We tread down our enemies in battle by our fight of faith, which releases all the forces of Heaven to come to our rescue. We fight against our enemies inwardly and outwardly by faith in the One who has gone before us and won the victory. If God is for us who can be against us and win. Zec10:5; Romans 8:3. We are called to contend for the truth of the gospel against all adversaries. Even the gnawings and temptations of our flesh. It is in fleeing from evil and pursuing righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and gentleness that we take our place in the economy of heaven. Even while we are here on earth. The one that corrects the things in their live that oppose God, and rules their own spirit will be triumphant over evil. 1 Timothy 6:11-12: James 4:7 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; raises those who are bowed down; loves the righteous and watches over strangers; he relieves the fatherless and widow; but he turns the way of the wicked upside down. Psalm 146:8-10.

Why?
Posted On 06/02/2008 06:55:34

Why do we doubt God?

Why do we doubt God when we can see His power and glory around us everyday. God is more powerful than any of us can imagine. He is the Creator of heaven and earth. He is our Shepard and we shall not want. He is our deliverer. He sent Jesus, his Son the die for us! So why then do we doubt he can provide all our needs, when our biggest, which is our salvation has already been met? Not one of our other needs can compare to that one. Yet God still wants to do for us, He still wants to comfort us in times of sorrow and pain. God wants to be with us and take us through the most difficult times in our lives. God wants to show us a plan he has had for each of us before we were born on this earth. God wants to give to us, are you ready to receive? Do you believe He is able to give? Well do you, do you believe? God will provide all your needs, whatever they may be. God will take you through the worst of storms. Our God is an awesome God. He is the First and the Last, The great I AM. All that you have and all that you are is because He allows it. Each breath we take, every beat our heart makes is because He lets it. All that we are and do is not good and right, but He loves us anyway, and provided a way for us to live an eternal life with Him, if we only believe. In the Name that is above all names, Jesus Christ. Amen. Mel

What's New With The Jesus Nexus and My Jesus Nexus

Hey everyone, much has been happening with us and I wanted to take a few minutes to give everyone more details on our events and ministry.

We will be having a concert May 24th in Zephyrhills, Florida. It will feature Superchick and 12 other bands. There will also be guest speakers coming from around the country to talk about a couple of very important issues that we have talked about with some of our friends on myspace and the other networks we work on. Those issues are Self/Injury (cutting), Suicide, and Abuse. If you are dealing with any of these or have friends who are, I ask that you try and make it to this event, we are expecting up to 10,000 people to attend, it will be a powerful day, one filled with hope and love. It is open to all ages, if you're a parent of teens, I strongly urge you to attend and hear these testimony's and learn the signs to look for. Just to let you know, we have youth that grew up in good Christian homes that did cutting and their parents never knew. Also We are doing a canned food drive at this event to help families and the homeless. Tickets are ONLY $10.00 a great price for 13 bands. For more information go to Zoe Life Festival

We also are still putting on small free concerts, our location has changed, we are now working out of Wesley Chapel, Fl. A local church has teamed up with us and allowed us to hold these concert. They will be on Friday and Saturday nights. You can get more details on upcoming concerts at the web-site above, just click the tab titled "Other Concerts" when you go to that link. They are free, but we will take a love offering to give to the bands at the end of the shows. A nursery is available. At that same location we have started "The Jesus Nexus Bible Study" it will be held every Monday evening at 7pm.

And finally, our internet outreach ministry is still growing we work 13 different social networks and minister to over 16,000 people. If you have not had a chance please stop by our very own social network www.myjesusnexus.com I think you'll like it.

Thanks for being our friends and we pray God will bless you and your families!

The Truth of The Word, Joel’s Outpouring, The Church, and The Revival
Posted On 03/30/2008 14:35:03
Look’s like a lot, but it’s all tied together as one. I wrote a blog a couple of weeks back, about “ Joel’s Outpouring” from Joel 2:28 and in it I stated that I believe it is taking place now and that there are some that believe it refers to events that took place before Jesus came to die on the cross. I want to explain why I believe it is taking place now and show in scripture why I believe it. So we will start with;

Joel 2:28,29
And afterward I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. I will show wonders in the heavens and on earth.

I believe this is talking about the gift of the Holy Spirit that Jesus tells us we will receive until his return. (Luke 24:49) and (Acts 1:4-8)

I also believe this to be the case because Peter clearly states that it is just that in Acts 4:16-21) when the people believed that the disciples were just drunk. Peter says in verse 16, “No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel” and then he goes on the quote Joel 2:28-32. I need nothing more than that to convince me that the gift of the Holy Spirit is what all this refers to.

Well how can you say it speaks about a great revival to come? Glad you asked. I believe the Bible to be The Holy Word of God. I believe that the early church believed this without question and we saw in Acts and other books the awesome results of their faith. Then why do we not see more of this today? I believe II Timothy 3:5 and 7 explain it best.

The third chapter tells us of how the world and church will be in the “Last Days” verse 5 says, “having a form of godliness but denying it’s power” and verse 7, “ always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.

I believe there a many church’s that do not deny it’s power and do acknowledge the truth.
But I also believe as a whole the church has entered a place of denial, and fear. It is more afraid of offending it’s members than it’s God.

So how does this lead to revival? From this ministry I have seen something awesome taking place, just as it was in the early church (Acts 2:44-47) so it begins again. People seeking the truth are starting “home church’s” that preach the gospel and the truth of God’s living word. It is taking place all over this country and the world. And because of this believers are seeing visions and dreaming dreams, and prophesying. And the most common vision? Well it’s revival, a great revival unlike the world has ever seen. This is a revival of Truth and a revival of Power! I also see a call to take Jesus out of the church on Sunday and into the community and on to the streets. I saw a small group of several hundred go into the streets of Orlando a few weeks ago and get 18,000 people to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior in one weekend. When believers learn of their authority over the enemy, how to walk in God’s will, and obey the commands that God has placed before us, like the “Great Commission” We will see the power of God move and His truth made known to all.

I hope this better explains my belief to you and all I can say is keep your eyes open, it’s coming!
God bless, mel

Shining Through

Shining Through

“Let your light so shine before men,
that they see your good works
and glorify your father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

A little girl was among a group of people being given a guided tour through a great cathedral. As the guide explained the various parts of the structure-the altar, the choir, the screen, and the nave- the little girl’s attention was intently focused on a stained glass window.

For a long time she silently pondered the window. Looking up at the various figures, her face was bathed in a rainbow of color as the afternoon sun poured into the transept of the huge cathedral.

As the group was about to move on, she gathered enough courage to ask the tour conductor a question. “Who are those people in that pretty window?”

“Those are the saints,” the guide replied.

That night, as the little girl was preparing for bed, she told her mother proudly: “I know who the saints are.”

“Oh?” replied the mother. “And just who are the saints?”

Without a moment’s hesitation the little girl replied: “They are the people who let the light shine through!”

As you look back over your day, did you let God’s light shine through? Sometimes we pass these opportunities by, saying, “ It will just take too much out of me.” but the Bible lets us know that everything we give will come back to us- multiplied. (See Luke 6:38)

Remember, the light of your life gives those around you a glimpse of Jesus, the Source of eternal and constant light. As you let your light shine, it will grow brighter!

Should first my lamp spread light and
purest rays bestow The oil must then
from you, my dearest Jesus, flow.

The question for today is:
I can let God’s Light shine through me by?

This is an emergency!

This Is An Emergency!

Let us show the world who we are called to be. There are brothers and sisters living on the streets needing to see the love of Jesus. Children, hungry, abused, believing there is no hope. There are people putting drugs in themselves hoping to fill a void in there life. There are so many broken hearted including Christians, why? This is an emergency. God is calling for them to come home. Reach out your hands to them, lead them home to Jesus.

There are even churches, forsaking those in need, not seeing the forest for the trees. I am in New Orleans right now and what I see is isn’t right. Churches are rebuilt and homes are not. Is this love, is this mercy? The Church isn’t a building but rather, the people serving those in need. Money used for the good of who? No wonder people call Christians hypocrites They have forgotten the mission God has entrusted them with. They turn our back to those crying out for help. Remember what you do to these, you do also to him (Jesus). This is an emergency.

Love and mercy, where are you? This is a generation lost, desperate to find answers, a reason to live, trying to make sense of a messed up world. There are people cutting themselves to use pain to fill the emptiness they feel. There are people killing themselves because they see no way out of the hurt inside. This is an emergency! Reach out your hands and pick up the crippled.

Where is our faith, we read the Word of God and do not trust in it. This is an emergency. I am here to tell you, it is true, it is real, it is all powerful! God’s promises are kept! We need only believe and trust in Him, He will never leave us or forsake us. In Christ we stand!

Sinners all are we, and If you feel you stand alone today, You don’t! God is there and loves you dearly. His Son, Jesus Christ came to us because of this love. He came to die a horrible death on the cross, for the sin of the world. He is holding out His hands to bring you home, and reveal the awesome plan he has for your life, known to him before time began. Confess him as the Son of the living God, and ask Him to come into your life and he will make you a new creature and all your sins will be washed away. In Jesus Name, Amen. Mel

Whatever you dislike in another person take care to correct in yourself.

Whatever you dislike in another
person take care to correct in yourself.

In A Closer Walk, Catherine Marshall writes: “One morning last week He gave me an assignment: for one day I was to go on a ‘fast’ from criticism. I was not to criticize anybody about anything.”

“For the first half of the day, I simply felt a void, almost as if I had been wiped out as a person. This was especially true at lunch..... I listened to the others and kept silent.... In our talkative family no one seemed to notice. Besumed, I noticed that my comments were not missed. Th federal goverment, the judicial system, and the institutional church could apparently get along fine without my penetrating observations. But still I didn’t see what this fast on criticism was accomplishing-until mid-afternoon.

“That afternoon, a specific, postive vision for this life was dropped into my mind with God’s unmistakeable hallmark on it- joy! Ideas began to flow in a way I had not experienced in years. Now it was apparent what the Lord wanted me to see. My critical nature had not corrected a single one of the multitudinous things I found fault with. What it had done was to stifle my own creativity.”

Before you are tempted to criticize someone, examine your own life. While you may not commit the same act or have he same habit you’re about to criticize, you probably have some behavior that could be criticized. Don’t stifle your creativity with criticism!

What do You Want?

What Do You Want?

I thank you and praise you, O God of my fathers,
Who has given me wisdom and might and has
made in own to me now what we desired of you.
Daniel 2:23

Children are quick to respond to their enviroment. Babies immediately cry when they are hungry, thirsty, tired, sick, or wet. Toddlers are not at all bashful in communicating what they do and do not want. However, as we grow older, maturity teaches us to use discernment in making our desires known and to give way to the needs of others in many situations.

The Lord nevertheless tells us we are wise to always come to Him as little children -telling Him precisely what we need and want. While looking directly at a man whom He knew was blind, Jesus asked, him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” Without hesitation he replied, “Master, let me receive my sight” (Mark 10:51).

Jesus could see he was blind, yet He asked him to make a request. In like manner, God knows what you need “before you ask Him” (Matthew 6:8). Yet He says in His Word, “by prayer and petition (definite requests)....continue to make your wants known to God” (Philippians 4:6).

Why pray for what seems to be obvious? Because in stating precisely what we want, our needs and desires become obvious to us.

State your request boldly before the Lord tonight. He’ll hear you. He’ll respond to you. And just as important, you’ll hear yourself and respond in a new way to him.

Our prayers must mean something to us if they are to mean anything to God.

The Question for Today Is “Father, I Have a need to bring to you?

A TESTIMONY
Posted On 02/05/2008 18:28:22
The following was given to me today by proud Grandparents, and after you read this you’ll see why. It was written by a young lady that only months before was ready to end the life that God had given her. What is awesome about this is that she has found out about the love of Jesus and that God has a purpose for her life, and it is not only her but everyone that walks this earth.

THIS IS MY WALK WITH JESUS....

It all happened so fast. One day it hit me. I was awakened. I was reborn. You see, I have spent 22 years of my life living it the way I wanted to. I rarely let God speak to my heart. I was in control. Then something happened to me. I wasn’t the same Jillian anymore. I let it all go. I learned that I cannot control what happens next in my life because of this wonderful, life changing, blessed concept...before I was even thought of, God had already planned my life. He even knows how many hairs are on my head. How amazing is that? He cares about me so much that He has already planned my life for me, I just have to let His will be done. So whatever or wherever I am supposed to be I will be because I have fallen in love with my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus loves me unconditionally. Even though all of the times I have failed Him. I am a sinner. But I have asked for forgiveness and I am forgiven. It is an awesome feeling to know that my Savior won’t leave me for the things I have done. He won’t ever turn His back or ignore me. He will always listen and He knows what I am thinking or going to say, but always lets me talk. For this my heart has changed. I want to spend the rest of my life learning, teaching, witnessing, and bringing the greatest gift of salvation to people.

So I decided to be baptized. Like my grandpa has told me, “It is an outward expression of something that has happened internally.” I am doing this for me and my relationship with Jesus. I want to live a new life based solely on my Christian faith. But I need the love and support of my family and friends to encourage me to continue my walk with Jesus. That is why you are here. Because I love each one of you and I know some of you have already experienced this feeling in your own relationship with our Savior. And I’m thankful that I get to share eternity with Jesus and my family and friends. This life on earth is just for a while and I will not waste it anymore. I want to be rewarded for me belief and witnessing to people on earth when I go home to Heaven. I want to hear Jesus say to me, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Encourage me and build me up, I will do the same for all of you. Thank you for sharing this special day with me. It means more than you know. I love you all and I LOVE MY SAVIOR! Jillian 8-5-07
AND I AM NOT DONE WALKING YET!!!!

It’s hard to believe that months before she felt she had no reason to live. Now she is filled with life, love and hope. You to can feel the way she feels, by coming to the foot of the cross and asking Jesus to forgive you for your sins and confessing him as The Son Of The Living God. Once you do this He will begin to reveal his purpose and plan for your life. If you have any questions or need someone to talk to visit or site myjesusnexus.com You can find me there, most of all you can find Jesus there too! God Bless, Pastor Mel Pettit
