The Ten commandments were given as a moral guide for the Israelites and for the whole world.



They were never given to save man. they were given to be a clear representation of God's character. The law is like a mirror that shows us ourselves in truth. It shows us how far we have fallen from God. How far we are from being right with God, or righteous.

The Law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul (psalm 19:7). this does not mean the law saves. It means it strips us of all hope of saving ourselves by our own goodness or works. we then call out for a saviour to do it for us.

By the Law is the knowledge of sin (romans 3:20) The ten commandments, and Gods word in general shows us what God hates and what he loves. It shows us what he has oulawed and allowed.

Sin is the transgression of the Law (1 john 3:4) This is the biblical definition of sin. many change the definition to suit there own desire. lying, stealing, blasphemy, lust is like adultery, hatred is like murder. rebellion is like witchcraft. coveting, idolatry, many have various views of Jesus today, anything outside of the biblical picture is a wicked sin.

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) all are under the curse of the law and the death sentence until they come to Christ. Not just the jews.

The soul that sins it shall die. (Exekiel 18:4) whoever fails to keep the law perfectly in thought, word and deed is cut off from God. Spritually dead. waiting for physical death. For those that are not born again in life, they die spiritually forever in Hell.

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall be no flesh justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. (romans 3:20) the law is not to save but to reveal the necessity for a atonement or payment for our sins.

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets. (romans 3:21) the law and the prophets are to be used to validate the claims of Jesus as the messiah. the prophets and prphecy apeal to the intellect of a person and produce faith inthe word of God. The law and the Ten commandments, address the conscience (which means with knowledge) , and reveal sin, that the man is not good and in danger of judgment before God. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

what shall we say then? is the law sin? God forbid. nay, i had not known sin but by the law: for i had not known lust, except the law had said, you shall not covet. (romans 7:7) Paul knew sin before the law, it existed in man because of his adamic, original sin. But you will not know the full weight of your sin unless you know the law, because it shows you your sin in its fullest extent. it shows you who you are in God's eyes, not yours or mans.

wherefore the law was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (galatians 3:24) the pharisees misused the law trying to be justified and clean before God by keeping it. this is like taking a mirror off the wall and trying to wash with it. no go to the water of the word and be saved. they added to it and took away from it. Jesus magnified it and made it honourable in the sermon of the mount. it should show us how to live before God. how tolive with our neighbour. to repent of our sins, and put our faith in christ alone. to be saved by grace alone. this is the purpose of the law. everything is meant to Glorify God!

2007, the year of what?
Hello guys, well, we have survived the festivities. We have probably eaten to much and prayed to little. Yes christmas and new year. A strained time for us all.

The world has a habit of moulding us into it's image. It easily done. This is a frightening thought when we see that the God of this world is the devil. Read a paper, listen to the news, and you will see his children doing what comes naturally to them. Wars and rumours of wars, mass murder, disease, famine. satans finger prints are every where.

Then there is the church. Bill Bright found that 2% of christians regularly share there faith with the lost, even though they are commanded to, and the lost are a heart beat away from the lake of fire. Abortion is rife in the church, fornication, lust, which is adultery of the heart. lying, stealing, worldliness. They abound in the church today.

The bible warns that in the last days the love of most will grow cold. that before he returns there will be a falling away from the faith. Compromise abounds, many don't know sound doctrine, and to be honest they don't see any problem with this. Even though you cannot seperate Jesus from his teachings and doctrines and still have the true Jesus. You become, deceived, or a false convert, worse than before.

They are saved, they said a prayer and asked Jesus into there lives and that is all that matters. even though Jesus said that by there fruit you shall know them. That many will say to him on that day, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophecy in your name, and cast out demons in your name..." he will answer away from me you worker of iniquity i never knew you. they were lawless, they lived as if God had never gave a law for man to keep. The law cannot save us, but it does reveal our true sin gainst a Holy and just God. it shows us we need to turn fro our sin, to God. what about the lost around you this year, will you learn how to reach out to them, the way Jesus did. Why i am a christian? Part One.



Yes this is a complex subject, and i will probably not do it justice here. I am new to this so here goes. I live in the UK, and was brought up in a working class secular family. I struggled at school and gained few friends at first. The ones i developed were quite troubled. I gained alot of respect by never allowing anyone to bully me and get away with it. I saw that the tough survive by there own means and the weak crumble.

When i left school i drifted from job to job, and lived a carnal life partying with my friends, drinking, doing drugs, and living generally an immoral life. A friend and i had a religious experience when i was about 21. We both had near death like experiences, and thought we had become christians. We started to go to a anglican, then a evangelical church and got baptised. We grew in our faith, and learned alot about why creationism is right and evolution is wrong and against God's word. How Israel is still in God's plan and will one day be at the centre of a huge power struggle that will engulf the whole world. All sound, and worthy of knowing. We learned how not to doubt our salvation, to trust that we had "accepted" Christ into our hearts and made a "decision for Christ". That we were now simply saved and could not be lost, called "once saved always saved". They ignored my lack of fruit for the Lord. They did not ask me to follow scripture and examine myself to see if i was in the faith. Well i did it any way, because my conscience was crying out "something is wrong".

I had started at college by this time, and was researching historical christianity at every available opportunity. It had been about four years since my conversion and i had never really stopped sinning, because i couldn't! I still was drinking, partying, and living a sexually immoral life, yet going to church the whole time, and "repenting" of the things i was doing hoping i could stop. I saw that many others were living the same way. I was to have an ecounter with truth that would turn my "walk with the Lord upside down".

I came home early one day from college and decided to do some channel surfing through the christian channels. I came across a programme called "the way of the master". There was a young guy called Kirk Cameron, and a older guy called Ray Comfort, talking about Christianity and the Bible in a way i had never heard before. They were talking about evangelism, and the need to share the Gospel with the lost biblically the way Jesus did. I thought to myself, this is for me, i will use these methods to reach the lost. I did not realise that i was the first lost person to be reached. They preached the Gospel the way Charles Spurgeon, George whitfield, etc, did. Using the moral Law of God as a mirror to show the sinner there need of a saviour. When a person looks into a mirror and sees his face is dirty it causes him to go to the water and be cleaned.

Wow! I saw for the first time that i had not truly understood the Gospel at all. I had never been told what Sin was biblically.(1 john 3:4). What repentance was from a biblical point of view. I was told that sin was just missing the mark, messing up, falling short of the glory of God, self centeredness. They told me that repentance was just a change of mind. Not that it meant to hate and turn from all sin(1 John 3:4), towards God.

When i saw the Ten Commandments, opened up, i saw myself how God saw me. I realised that all sin was offensive to God, a slap in the face to him. I had lied and was therefore a liar, and would rightfully end up in the lake of fire. I had stolen, and was therefore a thief before God. I had lusted and therefore committed adultery of the heart. And no adulterer will inherit the kingdom of God. I saw that all my hatred towards others was like murder to God, and no murderer will inherit eternal life. God revealed to me that i had created a God in my own image to suit my own desires and sins, therefore i had committed idolatry and was under the death sentence. I had used the name of the God who had given me life as a filthy swear word to express disgust. This was blasphemy. I was a lawbreaker, under the rightful wrath of a just and Holy God. I had received light and knowledge of God from the Creation and my conscience, and ignored them. I knew that When i stood before him on judgment day in my sins i would be found Guilty and therefore end up in Hell for all eternity.

Praise God! I knew that God himself had paid my fine. He had became a man, born of a virgin, to live a perfect life for the elect , keeping the law in my place. All 613 commands. In thought, word, and deed, he was without sin. He then gave up his life for me, taking the wrath and punishment that i deserved for breaking the law. My sin was imputed to him. He satisfied the justice of God, i broke the law, Jesus paid my fine in full, that's why he cried out it is accomplished. Three days later he rose from the dead defeating deaths curse and hold on me. He later ascended to the right hand of the father to intercede for me, through his perfect, once for all sacrifice of his blood.



I am a partaker of this miracle by God's will. He showed me my sin (1 john3:4). He gifted me repentance, then faith in God. I confessed my sins, and forsaked them, turning to God. Hating and giving up my former life. I then put my faith trust in the perfect work of Jesus Christ upon the cross to save me alone. He is my right-ness with God. Nothing but the cross can commend me to God, no works, nothing. I am saved by grace through faith alone. I have obeyed God ever since. I read my Bible every day, and learned how to reach out to the lost in a biblical way, I do this because i love my neighbour as myself. I have the fruit of repentance, righteousness, the holy spirit, etc. I do these things out of gratitude and love to a great saviour.
