Message from God
Posted On 09/15/2007 21:44:29
As you got up this morning, I watched you, and hoped you would talk to Me, even if it was just a few words, asking My opinion or thanking Me for something good that happened in your life yesterday. But I noticed you were too busy, trying to find the right outfit to wear.

When you ran around the house getting ready, I knew there would be a few minutes for you to stop and say hello, but you were too busy. At one point you had to wait fifteen minutes with nothing to do except sit in a chair. Then I saw you spring to your feet.

I thought you wanted to talk to Me, but you ran to the phone and called a friend to get the latest gossip instead. I watched patiently all day long. With all your activities I guess you were too busy to say anything to Me. I noticed that before lunch you looked around, maybe you felt embarrassed to talk to me, that is why you did not bow your head.

You glanced three or four tables over and you noticed some of your friends talking to Me briefly before they ate, but you did not. That is okay... There is still more time left, and I hope that you will talk to Me yet. You went home and it seems as if you had lots of things to do.

After a few of them were done, you turned on the TV. I do not know if you like TV or not, just about anything goes there and you spend a lot of time each day in front of it not thinking about anything, just enjoying the show. I waited patiently again as you watched the TV and ate your meal, but again you did not talk to Me.

Bedtime- I guess you felt too tired. After you said goodnight to your family you plopped into bed and fell asleep in no time. That is okay because you may not realize that I Am always there for you.. I have got patience, more than you will ever know. I even want to teach you how to be patient with others as well.

I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod, a prayer or thought, or a thankful part of your heart. It is hard to have a one-sided conversation. Well, you are getting up once again. Once again I will wait, with nothing but love for you. Hoping that today you will give Me some time.

Have a nice day! Your friend, GOD

Hello God
Posted On 09/15/2007 21:43:48
Hello God,
I called tonight
To talk a little while
I need a friend who'll listen
to my anxiety and trial.
You see, I can't quite make it
through a day just on my own...
I need your love to guide me,
so I'll never feel alone.
I want to ask you please to keep
my family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence
for whatever fate they're bound.
Give me faith, dear God, to face
each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things
I can't change in any way.
I thank you God for being home
and listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice
when I stumble and fall.
Your number, God, is the only one
that answers every time.
I never get a busy signal,
never had to pay a dime.
So thank you, God, for listening
to my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You too,
and I'll call again tomorrow!

The man whispered, "God, speak to me"
and a meadowlark sang.

But, the man did not hear. So the man yelled, "God, speak to me"
and the thunder rolled across the sky.

But, the man did not listen. The man looked around and said,
"God let me see you." And a star shined brightly.

But the man did not see. And, the man shouted,
"God show me a miracle." And, a life was born.

But, the man did not notice. So, the man cried out in despair,
"Touch me God, and let me know you are here." Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But, the man brushed the butterfly away

and walked on.

I found this to be a great reminder that God is always around us in the little and simple things that we take for granted ... even in our electronic age .. so I would like to add one more:

The man cried,

"God, I need your help!"
And an e-mail arrived reaching out

Are we limiting God?
Posted On 09/15/2007 21:42:35
God can give you a dream. One idea from God can forever change the course of your life. God can do anything, if you believe, and you will simply stop limiting Him in your thinking. The barrier is in your mind.

Until now you have not asked, ask so that you may receive so that your joy may be full. He will establish your thoughts. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, cast down all imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. He has a plan to do you good and not evil, a plan to give you a hope and a future.

It’s a wrong thinking pattern that keeps us imprisoned in defeat, a ‘stronghold’. Don’t listen to those lies. If God is for you, who dares to be against you? Break through those limitations of the past and let your mind dwell on fresh, positive attitudes of faith. Breaking those barriers will change your life and the lives of your children. Break through the barriers in your mind and start stepping out in faith; you will go beyond those old barriers. If you fail to break through barriers of the past, you run the risk of spinning your wheels, going around in circles. Instead of moving forward with an attitude of faith, expecting good things, you’ll be insisting on going around with a poor, defeated mentality. Let go of past hurts, pains, or failures. Believe for bigger things. It’s time for increase, time for promotion, time for supernatural favor.

Today is a new day; God wants to do a new thing in your life. Don’t let your past determine your future, and start expecting good things. You can’t have a victim mentality and expect to live in victory. God sees all!!

Faith is the victory that over comes the world.

Are you willing to change your thinking? GOD can change your life. God wants you to live an overcoming life of victory. He’s called El Shaddai, “the God of more than enough.” He is not “El Cheapo,” the God of barely enough!!

God works by faith, believe first, and then you’ll receive. God is waiting on you to stretch your faith. Stretch your faith and believe God for more so you can help somebody else in need. Ask God to put some fire in your spirit, stay in an attitude of faith and victory. If you believe, all things are possible!! "Let" your joy be full!

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think. He is able to make all grace abound so that in everything we have sufficiency enough to be generous at all times. Behold all things become new, old things have passed away, behold all things become new. Eye has not seen nor ear heard what great things God has planned for you. Trust Him to bring it to pass.

Through the eyes of Jesus
Posted On 09/15/2007 21:41:48
"Just as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers or sisters you did it to me"
Matthew 25:40

What would our world be like if we saw Jesus in the eyes of everyone we meet each day? To adopt the spirit of Christ, to live as Jesus did we must learn to see the eyes of Jesus in the people we meet each day. Picture for a moment the people that you meet in a day's time. Your lover, partner, family members. The people at your work place, your school, the people you meet in the grocery store, on the bus, in the doctor's office. Look deeply, can you see the eyes of Jesus. In the person who is different from you in beliefs, color, life's walk, the homeless, the one who is confined to a nursing home, behind prison walls. The eyes of Jesus look back at us in our loved ones, friends, strangers and even our enemies. To see Jesus in others is to respect our differences. To see Jesus in the eyes of one another is to reach out with a love that will go the extra mile. To see Jesus in the eyes of the stranger is to say we are more alike. t
To love as Jesus did we must not only see the eyes of Jesus in others but also see through the eyes of Jesus. The eyes of Jesus looked with compassions on all of God's people. The eyes of Jesus saw those who were considered the poor and weak. The eyes of Jesus saw the children who needed God's care. The eyes of Jesus saw those who were considered outcasts and welcomed them to the best seats at the banquet table. The eyes of Jesus saw with a love that accepted the people Jesus met just as they were. In all their giftedness, in all that made them truly human.

Our whole life journey is entering into the mystery that we become the eyes of Jesus, we become the hands of Jesus, we become the heart of Jesus, that our body becomes the body of Christ. Through our actions, by our words, we take the precious body of Christ to those we meet.

Someone once said: "You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person." Who is it that needs to meet the presence of Christ through your life this week? I believe God places people in our lives who need what we have to offer at that time in their life's journey. Whether that is for a moment's encounter sitting enjoying our morning coffee. Whether that is for a lifetime of cherished memories. Or if it is somewhere in between. There is someone who needs what you have to give and that means all the world to them.

Lord Jesus Bless this day as we walk with You, as we reach out for You, as we Learn, as we Grow in Your Love for others. Lord I pray rainbows around and above all whom are reading this devotional today, Son Shining in their hearts, desire to touch them as they reach out to You Lord. I pray homes will be filed with Your Loving Presence, Families be united as one, relationships to strengthen. I pray tears of joy as we look upon one another and See You. I pray Hope will take over any doubts and fears Lord Jesus, Hope to travel along the path to Your heart, Hope when we weary, Hope when we are discouraged as so often we struggle Lord. I pray Comfort as we reach out Lord, Comfort as You hold us, Comfort as we are ill and going through many trials. I pray Peace Lord Jesus unto all hearts today, a Peace that Only flows through us and around us, that You give to us when our burdens weigh heavy upon our hearts.

"YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." (Luke 10:27)

"JUST AS YOU DID IT TO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BROTHERS OR SISTERS YOU DID IT TO ME." (Matthew 25:40)

Faith for a miracle

And there was a woman who had had a flow of blood for twelve years, and who had endured much suffering under (the hands of) many physicians and had spent all that she had, and was no better but instead grew worse. She had heard the reports concerning Jesus, and she came up behind Him in the throng and touched His garment. (Mark 5:25-27)

Surely this woman must have been attacked with thoughts of hopelessness. When she considered going to Jesus she must have thought, "What's the use?" But she pressed forward through the thick, suffocating crowd and touched the hem of Jesus' garment. Healing virtue flowed to her and she was made well.

No matter what she felt like, no matter how much others tried to discourage her, even though she had suffered for twelve years, this woman did not give up. Jesus told her it was her faith that had made her whole. Keep pressing forward--and don't give up hope!!

Sleep in Peace

In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust. PSALMS 4:8

In the quiet of the evening after a long day, it's not unusual to think about and evaluate the events of the day. But thoughts can be disturbing, especially if you faced problems that remain unsolved.

Sometimes these thoughts are not easy to turn off and can threaten to rob you of a peaceful night's sleep. But staying awake and worrying wil not change or improve the situation at all.

This is a good time to share your concerns with God and ask for His help. He tells us in His Word to cast our cares on Him, so give your thoughts to Him and trust Him to provide a solution. Then lie down and sleep in peace.

The young man was at the end of his rope.
Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer.

"Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear."

The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then,
open that other door and pick out any cross you wish.

"The man was filled with relief.

Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and he did as he was told.

Upon entering the other door, he saw many crosses,
some so large the tops were not visible.

Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall.

"I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered.
And the Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

When life's problems seem overwhelming, it helps to look around and see what other people are coping with. You may consider yourself far more fortunate than you imagined.

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine after the rain.
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall,
but God's always there to help through it all.
