DISCERN THE HEARTS by Sandy Warner www.thequickenedword.com --------------------------------------------- From out of the mouth, the heart does spring Bitter or sweet, words have drawstrings. Anger once simmered now does boil. Resentment nurtured now hate toils. Be careful of what words are pure For mouths speaking have great lure. Listen well and you will know How to discern all that’s in tow. Birds of a feather flock together. Listen to their songs of weather. Some are shrill, some are sweet. Some are quiet, nice and neat. You will discern the spirit inside When you listen to what resides. Hearts with wounds, hearts grown cold, Hearts with control, all too bold. Hearts are manifest through their words. Pray for them and what is heard. Your prayers will heal all gone awry I hear your prayers over hearts that sigh. Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look [after one another], to see that no one falls back from and fails to secure God's grace (His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing), in order that no root of resentment (rancor, bitterness, or hatred) shoots forth and causes trouble and bitter torment, and the many become contaminated and defiled by it. (Hebrews 12:15 AMP)
