I recently found out that
I am the 381,911,782 richest person in the world! How that seems like there is a huge amount of people that are richer than me but when you look at it in a global perspective it really make me think that I am not doing enough with the money I do have.
I am richer than 6,118,088,218 people on this planet. Now I work a full time job, and had to pick up a part time job on the side to try and support my family of three. Recently after reviewing our financial situation, we recently realized that my wife would have to go back to work as well.
I thought I had it pretty bad. Then I look at that number
6,118,088,218 people, 6,118,088,218 people that struggle more than me. It makes me wonder, where is going, what I could be doing with that money.
I try to justify my spending by saying well there is 3 people in my family and I am the only one working. Still divided by three
I am the 2,540,925,598 richest person in the world. There is still
3,959,074,402 people that are worse off than we are. I realize I must make a change, get over to the
Global Rich List an see how you stack up.
Get out of your seat, and do something with your money. Shake up your church. We are supposed to
tithe 10% of our income.
How many of our churches tithe 10% of there income to the poor?
I am really wish you could post comments on polls here on Christ Union, because I just stumbled upon a poll that is quite disheartening; and I would like to have a chance to offer a different angle on the hatred fueled by “faith” it suggests is correct.
The poll is titled “should gays be aloud?” this in itself is an incomplete question witch leaves what “gays” shouldn’t be allowed to do up for interpretation. I tried to put myself in the poll creators mind and come up with what they shouldn’t be allowed to do; participate in ministry?, eat pistachio ice cream?, go to Disneyland?, breath?
Obvious haste in creating a poll aside, the part the bothers me is the black and whiteness of the poll answers. You can ether not care, or condemn. How would Jesus deal with this question? In his mind would this issue be so black and white?
I am seems more and more these days, that people are more concerned about casting demons, and passing judgment than reflecting Christ’s ministry here on earth. How is hatred of homosexuals any different than the Salem witch trials, the KKK, or Nazi Germany?
Granted homosexuality is a sin, but bible tells us Jesus loves them anyway. No matter what you had done Jesus would still take the time to have lunch with you. Jesus didn’t come to hang with the righteous. To quote Riley Armstrong “He came for the lost and lonely. He came for the broken hearted.” Jesus came to befriend the sinner.
This said, I propose a new poll.
How should we handle homosexuals in our faith community?
(A) Cast stones.
(B) Ignore them.
(C) Have lunch with them.
(D) Become there friend.
